Fresh from Finland

Top Billin, known from the Helsinki night club scene and somewhat spread abroad as well, gathered a top notch Friday party, which also served as a celebratory event for Helsinki 78 – 82′s EP release. I had yet to actually attend a Top Billing party in their own backyard, but somehow a vague, more lame reception from Tampere had got trapped in between the lines for me. Having heard a plethora of rumors about the Crazy Friday Night party, Redrum seemed a little on the empty side once we arrived. On the plus side, there was no need to wait in line and the dance floor seemed to have gathered a large part of the crowd. A more experienced Top Billin expert told me they had liked the evening, cause it was “less redneck than usual”.
Go figure.

The nights undisputed highlight was So Lifelike, spiced up by Villa Nah’s live-vocals. Helsinki 78-82 EP release is no doubt some first class dance, house, disco party music in a finnish scale. The largest downside is the duration of the EP, cause one could have easily jammed one more danceable on their. So Lifelike is easily on of my favorite tracks this year. Suosittelen suuresti!
