As the many local drivers of entrepreneurship finally gain some ground, the startup scene is leaking over to the almost septic music industry. The music scene has been sprawling with some real innovative approaches and business ideas lately, which we at Fresh Tunes Finland only naturally contribute to ourselves *cough*. You don’t need to look under rocks in the current setting, to see that somethings up and changing in our little precious and fragile music business bubble. Anyway, it does us proud that one of these babies in the startups life-cycle is growing up.

Gigswiz develops tools for the rapidly evolving live music industry. Bands are offered tools for managing and collecting requests from their fans. The statistics and reports on what and where fans want to hear, makes arranging gigs and tours easier and reduces the risk. Compared to other analytics services GigsWiz is focused on estimating future consumer behavior rather than reporting the past.

We spent one magical hour yesterday with the Gigswiz crew at their release party in Helsinki. The atmosphere was spectacular, which gladdens us – to see so much love for our homies *cough*. Yes apparently writing shouldn’t be combined with.. moving on.

Two bands flaunted their talent at the party, first “The B and The Band” with their ferocious Power Folk with Gigswiz own talent, Lasse Arola on drums. Check out their MySpace here.

Later on Fuerteventura also displayed their affection for Gigswiz. This line-up, dubbed the favorite of a particular seasoned Finnish celebrity formula driver, was unfortunately just too much for us, so we left prior, scared, tail between our legs. We wanted to take this afternoon out to say: Kudos – Props and bucket loads of marshmallows! Awesome stuff guys!
